Research overview

The project commissioned scanning for video digitization of 310 film prints from the holdings of 10 archives between 2020 and 2022 for the purposes of research and (selective) presentation. The list here itemizes all archives and films concerned. (Of these videos, only a small selection is published in this Database and Media Collection. Since a comprehensive rights clearance and settlement would have exceeded our resources, this platform was designed from the beginning to publish and contextualize a few selected films as video copies).

In total, materials from over 30 Austrian and international archives, libraries, private and school collections were gathered within the framework of the project for research and, where possible, presentation. In addition to the three partner institutions involved in the project since its very conception – Austrian Film Museum, Austrian Media Library, Austrian Folk High School Archive – these are, in alphabetical order:

List of sources for the use of film in the classroom:
For a teacher training course at the Vienna University of Education on film in German lessons at secondary levels 1 and 2 (March 2022), we have compiled a list of possible sources for films and videos for the classroom, which we share here.

Other documents that we had defined as "deliverables" for the project in the advance planning are collected here.
